Entry from: Hoi An, Vietnam Entry Title: "Hoi An" Entry: "Last night in Hanoi. We had a final dinner with Suzannah and Geraldine as they were off back to Birmingham and we were off to Hoi An which is in central Vietnam. We got another night train- this time it was on the standard Reunification Express and it was going to take 14 hours instead of 8. We departed at 11pm. We were booked into a four person cabin and ended up sharing with two lovely French guys. The cabins were larger than the ones we had been in before but they were also a lot scummier! There were dead bugs on the beds and random stains! But no worries as we had our trusty waterproof ponchos that open up into ground sheets- nothing gets through those bad boys! The journey was good and we got to see a lot of the Vietnamese countryside and coastline and we also passed through the DMZ. In Hoi An we stayed in a hotel on the edge of the town centre, rooms cost 10 pound a night- including breakfast and it had a pool. It was a great find- Tripadvisor never lets us down! When we wandered into Hoi An we were not disappointed. Everything everyone had told us about the place was true. It was really small and relaxed; it had loads of fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants. There were loads of great shops, tailors and cobblers. You can have anything ...
